Spring Forward

A Seasonal Disorder
1
Howdy folks! It's been a whirlwind of shows and show prep the last few weeks. I'll try to jump back in the weekly tunes this week. Here's a tune I wrote a year ago at six am when the time on my phone said it was actually now seven am.

Spring forward they said
So I jumped right out of bed
But the world wasn't ready for me it seems
Did I lose an hour, or was it a dream?

A rose by any other name
Could you believe it'd smell the same?
Or would you still think that it's red when it's green?
It's all an illusion, but what does it mean?

We tell ourselves terrible lies
Then we get on with our lives
So we go

Spring forward my friends
As the rest of the world just shakes it head
In spite of our ego and our foolish pride
The only true constant is time

Fall backwards is the worst of it yet
One extra hour at the bar, that's all that you'll get
Monday morning's so bright it is hard to believe
The darkness upon you when it's time to leave

We tell ourselves terrible lies
Then we get on with our lives
So we go

Spring forward they said
So I jumped right out of bed
But the world wasn't ready for me it seems
Did I lose an hour, or was it a dream?
