Last New Years Eve

Happy new year folks! I wrote this tune last new years morning at 6am. (As a sunriser, this holiday has never been my jam.) I wanted to write a ‘John Prine/in trouble with the wife’ type of tune. This was the result. Take care of each other & thanks as always for following along.

Didn't make no resolutions
I didn't change my mind
And a peace came over me as I lay asleep
Before midnight last New Years Eve

I didn't pop no champagne
Didn't masquerade at all
Didn't kiss no strangers 
At the drop of a ball
I didn't make no promises
That you wouldn't believe

Didn't hail no taxi cab
I wasn't too drunk to drive
Didn't text or call you up
I didn't tell you no lies
And a peace came over me as I lay asleep
